Our recent study revealed that low miR-96-5p and miR-149 levels correlated with high GPC1 expression in colorectal cancer cells in stage I and stage II patients [11], however, the mode of regulation of these two miRNAs and whether they directly target the micro RNAs of GPC1 gene in colon cancer cells has not yet been addressed. The gene discussed is GPC1; the disease is malignant colon neoplasm.
