PTH and multidrug-resistant tuberculosis: As shown in Table 2, statistical analysis revealed that PTH resistance was more likely to be associated with resistance to RIF [odds ratio (OR): 2.53, 95% confidence interval (95%CI): 1.31–4.88; P = 0.01], SM (OR: 2.17, 95% CI: 1.14–4.11; P = 0.02), LFX (OR: 2.69, 95% CI: 1.32–5.48; P < 0.01) and MDR-TB (OR: 2.17, 95% CI: 1.11–4.21; P = 0.02), whereas there was no significant difference in the distribution of PTH-resistant MTB isolates according to gender, age, residence and treatment history (P > 0.05; Table 2).
