Glycodelin protein is found both in normal ovary and in ovarian malignant lesions, but when it comes to mRNA detection, ovarian malignant tumors especially serous cystadenocarcinoma and endometrioid adenocarcinoma exhibit strong expression while normal ovary is glycodelin-negative (20), indicating that ovarian cancer abnormally produces glycodelin whereas normal ovary may absorb glycodelin or just offer a site for function. This evidence concerns the gene PAEP and ovarian carcinoma.
