The anti-inflammatory action of ortho-eugenol was evidenced in inflammatory protocols, including the acetic acid-induced peritoneal permeability and the CG-induced peritonitis, which showed a suppressive effect on vascular permeability and leukocyte migration and the subsequent reduction of TNF-α and IL-1β due to inhibition of NF-κB and p38 phosphorilated forms observed in the peritonitis test. Here, TNF is linked to peritonitis.
