This expansion of myeloid cells in CRC patients was confirmed further with the addition of another myeloid marker, CD11b, as CRC patients had significantly higher levels of circulating CD33+CD11b+ cells than HD and PBC (CRC: 81.92 ± 2.07 versus PBC: 70.20 ± 2.79 and HD: 74.59 ± 2.56, Figure 1(b)). This evidence concerns the gene CD33 and colorectal carcinoma.
