We calculated the positive rates of four main diagnostic models in two groups of patients and found that the AFP model (P-M) was not valuable for the differentiation of HCC from BLD because HCC or BLD patients were all positive when serum AFP ≥400 ng/ml and almost negative when serum AFP <400 ng/ml, suggesting that serum AFP levels lack value in discriminating HCC from BLD with elevated serum AFP levels. The gene discussed is AFP; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
