Upon virus infection, viral RNA binds retinoic acid‐inducible gene I (RIG‐I)‐like receptors, such as RIG‐I and melanoma differentiation‐associated protein 5, which in turns activates its sequel signaling, including translocation of RIG‐I to mitochondria where RIG‐I binds MAVS and ultimately triggers MAVS‐mediated IFN expression signaling pathway 47. This evidence concerns the gene RIGI and viral infectious disease.
