Garg et al. in a very recent randomized, multicenter trial evaluating the use of sotagliflozin—a new oral inhibitor of sodium–glucose cotransporters 1 and 2—in patients with T1DM showed that the association of this drug with existing insulin regimens was associated with a significant reduction in glycated hemoglobin values and in daily insulin dose. Here, INS is linked to type 1 diabetes mellitus.
