For the simulation, we adapted a method from our previous work on RAS-mediated dysregulation of the circadian clock in cancer, in which a factor ktt was introduced to the activation/inhibition rates describing CLOCK/BMAL-mediated transcription: ktt = 1 describes a normal RAS expression level whereas ktt < 1 indicates a reduction in the transcriptional activity of CLOCK/BMAL caused by RAS overexpression [32]. This evidence concerns the gene CLOCK and cancer.
