Remarkably, the expression of IL‐8, TGF‐β, VEGFA, VEGFR1, VEGFR2, and FGF2, which had been described as promoting cancer cell proliferation (Hsu et al., 1994; de Jong et al., 1998; Kajdaniuk et al., 2013; Liang et al., 2006; Ning et al., 2013; Sharpe et al., 2011), is significantly reduced on 2‐FF‐treated cells, suggesting that the decreased growth factors are the underlying mechanism for the reduced cell proliferation. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and cancer.
