Remarkably, the expression of IL‐8, TGF‐β, VEGFA, VEGFR1, VEGFR2, and FGF2, which had been described as promoting cancer cell proliferation (Hsu et al., 1994; de Jong et al., 1998; Kajdaniuk et al., 2013; Liang et al., 2006; Ning et al., 2013; Sharpe et al., 2011), is significantly reduced on 2‐FF‐treated cells, suggesting that the decreased growth factors are the underlying mechanism for the reduced cell proliferation.
