Although many studies have found significant associations in major AMD-associated genes such as CFH, ARMS2/HTRA1, and VEGFA, large-scale pharmacogenetic analyses for participants in multicenter clinical trials such as the CATT or IVAN, most of which were Caucasian neovascular AMD patients, found no significant association between the studied genetic variants and anti-VEGF treatment outcomes. This evidence concerns the gene CFH and age-related macular degeneration.
