In view of the in vitro findings demonstrating that 1) Ruxo pretreatment confers potent block of ovarian cell proliferation, 2) addition of Ruxo and Taxol limit the capacity of ovarian cancer cells to form colonies, and 3) Ruxo mitigates the Taxol-induced up-regulation of pro-cancer markers (SCA-1, CD117), we sought to understand how these effects impact ovarian cancer in vivo. This evidence concerns the gene KIT and cancer.
