IGF2BP3 has been reported to serve as an independent prognostic marker in a variety of cancers including ovarian carcinoma, astrocytoma, colorectal cancer, oral carcinoma, endometrial carcinoma and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma [10, 12, 38, 40–42]. This evidence concerns the gene IGF2BP3 and astrocytoma (excluding glioblastoma).
