A replication study reported that the rs6656401 SNP in the CR1 gene, which is one of the susceptibility loci for AD, was significantly associated with cognitive deficits (mean age: 75.5~84.4 years) for normal aging (in terms of global cognitive decline) as well as for pathological aging (in terms of global AD pathology) using the cognitive testing data such as memory and global cognition (14). This evidence concerns the gene CR1 and Alzheimer disease.
