In accord with our findings, in terms of the epigenetic level, Rieke reported that hypermethylation of RAD51B was associated with an immune-evasive phenotype in squamous cell carcinoma in a recent publication [22], which indicates that DNA methylation-mediated decrease in RAD51B expression levels may predict a poorer prognosis because of activated immune evasion. The gene discussed is RAD51B; the disease is squamous cell carcinoma.
