Using a variety of approaches to identify myeloid lineages, including Cx3cr1+/gfp mice, we show that an intense infiltrate of CD11b+ cells appears early during infection and that this is made up of neutrophils, eosinophils, Ly6Chi MHC–/+ monocytes, and CX3CR1int Mφs at the time of peak disease at 2 weeks after H. hepaticus inoculation. This evidence concerns the gene ITGAM and infection.
