CXCL10 and hepatitis B virus infection: The higher expression of IP-10 in patients with hepatitis B may play a decisive role in the recruitment and accumulation of monocytes and lymphocytes within the liver tissue through interaction with its CXCR3 receptors expressed in target cells.8 These data suggest that IP-10 is elevated in HBV-infected liver tissue and may play an important role in HBV infection-induced hepatitis, especially more in HCC.
