This apparent contradiction between our data and some of the previous results may be based on the different levels of the patient's asthma control, as our patients were mostly well controlled, with ACT scores of 22 or higher, and due to the fact that they mostly have eosinophil/atopic asthma, which, based on the recent findings [39], shows less connection with the peripheral osteopontin levels.
