This is reminiscent of the elevated probability of glutamate release from cerebellar granule cells in the Ts65Dn mouse model of DS (Das et al., 2013), but enhanced transmitter released from these neurons is unlikely to be due to Dscam overexpression as human cerebellar granule cells do not express DSCAM (Saito et al., 2000). Here, DSCAM is linked to Dravet syndrome.
