Resveratrol induces apoptosis in, and obstructs proliferation of, human multiple myeloma cells via inhibiting the constitutive activation of NF-κB through abrogating the IκB-α kinase activation, and thus down-regulating certain anti-apoptotic and pro-proliferation gene products, such as survivin, cIAP-2, cyclin D1, XIAP, Bcl-xL, Bfl-1/A1, Bcl-2, and TNF-α receptor-associated factor 2 (TRAF2) [121,154]. This evidence concerns the gene TRAF2 and AL amyloidosis.
