A variety of genetic mutations are implicated in glioblastoma development including the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), human epidermal growth factor receptor two (ERBB2), isocitrase dehydrogenase one (IDH1), neurofibromin one (NF1), phosphoinositide three-kinase (PI3K), phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN), retinoblastoma protein (RB1) and tumour suppressor p53 (TP53) [9]. The gene discussed is IDH1; the disease is glioblastoma.
