NUMBL and cancer: High levels of Numb or Numbl were found to associate with poor overall survival (length of time after the start of treatment of a cancer that the patients are still alive, OS) and relapse-free survival (length of time after the primary treatment of a cancer ends that the patients do not show any symptoms of that cancer, RFS) in multiple independent lung cancer datasets (figure 6a–d) as well as in ovarian cancer datasets (figure 6e,f): patients with higher relative levels of Numb or Numbl were observed to have shorter OS or RFS in these datasets.
