The recovery of TRIM8 expression in ccRCC-derived cell lines was able to induce a great p53-dependent reduction in the proliferation rate, which became more pronounced when the cells were treated with the chemotherapy drugs Nutlin-3 and Cisplatin, but more interestingly, when the cells were newly sensitive to treatment with Axitinib and Sorafenib, two specific drugs currently used in the treatment of many cancers, including ccRCC [20,21]. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and cancer.
