In hematologic malignancies, signal transducer and activator of transcription 3/5 (STAT3/5), nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-kB) or HOXA9 can transcriptionally activate Pim-1, supporting cellular proliferation through modification of cell cycle regulators, such as cooperating with c-Myc and c-Myb, enhancing Cdc25A and Cdc25C, and inactivating p21 and p27 [22]. This evidence concerns the gene PIM1 and hematologic disorder.
