Fibronectin (Fn) represents one of the most abundant ECM proteins16,17 with a plethora of binding sites for other ECM proteins, growth factors and cells, and especially its isoforms containing the extra domains A (EDA) and B (EDB), are overexpressed in cancer, wound healing and inflammation17–19, and serve as biomarkers for metastasis and bad prognosis in many cancer types20–24.
