Consistent with these findings, 79 differentially expressed genes identified in another study26 between primary breast cancers and paired lymph node metastases further overlapped with four genes from the EPPI: COL11A1, CTHRC1, PCOLCE2, and OGN. These differentially expressed genes were found to predict tumors with high risk of developing metastasis within 43 months, establishing their potential prognostic value in predicting clinical outcome of node-positive patients. This evidence concerns the gene CTHRC1 and breast cancer.
