Very recently, a 4-month diet supplemented with 57 g/day of pistachio (50% carbohydrates, 33% fat) modified circulating microRNAs (miR-192 and miR-375) and these changes were positively correlated with plasma glucose, insulin and HOMA-IR in 49 subjects with prediabetes [47]. The gene discussed is INS; the disease is prediabetes syndrome.
