Other candidate cancer genes were found to be frequently mutated in BCC (Table 1), including ARID1A, CASP8, CSMD1, GRIN2A, KRAS, NOTCH1, NOTCH2, NRAS, PIK3CA, PREX2, and RAC1, although they did not show a statistically significant association with BCC [19,22]. The gene discussed is CASP8; the disease is skin basal cell carcinoma.
