MAOB, an activity of which in mitochondrial function is thought to be related to Parkinson’s disease (Cohen et al. 1997; Cohen and Kesler 1999; Di Lisa et al. 2009; Jenner 2012), binds to the outer membranes of mitochondria (Mitoma and Ito 1992) and is widely distributed among tissue types (Schnaitman et al. 1967).
