Interestingly, qPCR (Fig. 5D) revealed that the sham-treated rats with cirrhosis displayed unaltered albumin and TTR mRNA levels (both P values > 0.05) and dramatically increased CK18 mRNA levels (P < 0.001) compared with the healthy Controls, whereas all the rats in the DPSC-treated groups exhibited increased albumin and TTR levels and restored CK18 transcription (all P values < 0.05).
