UCA1 binding to miR-143 was proved in breast cancer, where UCA1 was able to modulate cell growth and apoptosis by downregulating miR-143: this in turn led to upregulation of BCL2 (BCL2, apoptosis regulator) and ERBB3 (erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 3) [135].
