CTBP2 and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: As expected, knockdown of NEAT1 or miR-129 overexpression obviously impeded cell viability (Figures 5(a) and 5(c)) and invasiveness (Figures 5(b) and 5(d)) of EC109 cells, while CTBP2 restoration significantly abrogated these effects, suggesting that NEAT1 promoted cell viability and invasion by competitively binding to miR-129, upregulating CTBP2, and then contributing to tumorigenesis of ESCC.
