In a series of experiments Sheridan and colleagues showed that SDR, but not immobilization, promotes splenomegaly and GC resistance in in vitro Con A- or LPS-stimulated spleen cells16–18, that this effect is mediated by CD11b+ cells migrating from the bone marrow to the spleen20,21, and that GC resistance in these cells is likely mediated by decreased GR expression as well as compromised GR nuclear translocation22,23. The gene discussed is CAVIN2; the disease is Splenomegaly.
