Recently, Varejckova et al. found, in an in vitro study, that soluble endoglin treatment results in an activation of NF-κB/IL6 expression, without significant effects on other markers of endothelial dysfunction and inflammation, including eNOS, peNOSS1177, VCAM-1, COX-1, COX-2 and ICAM-1 [48]. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is endothelial dysfunction.
