An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was developed in-house to detect plasma IgG against peptide antigens derived from interleukin 1α (IL1α), IL1β, IL6, IL8 and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in 200 patients with T2D and 220 control subjects. The gene discussed is CXCL8; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
