Although the presence of the PD-L1 target implied the availability of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy for resectable brainstem gliomas, it is still unclear whether the cytoplasmic staining seen in this study would predict a similar response to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy on those cancers with membranous expression of PD-L1. This evidence concerns the gene CD274 and brain stem glioma.
