The subset of miRNA differentially secreted by all 4 HNSCC cell lines was enriched for those targeting genes involved in major cancer-associated KEGG pathways, including cell signaling (notably: p53-, TGF-ß, Hippo, Ras, MAPK, PI3K-Akt, and Ergß signaling pathways) and key cellular functions, including cell cycle control, RNA splicing, and cellular adhesion (Supplementary Tables 2-5). This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
