CRP and Hypertension: After correcting for probable confounding factors including age, sex, season, ethnicity, BMI status, AA: EPA, CRP, vitamin B12, tobacco use, fruit and vegetable consumption, physical activity, and BP-lowering medications, only participants that were vitamin D insufficient at baseline that achieved optimal serum 25(OH)D status at follow-up (≥100 nmol/L) had a lower risk of hypertension (OR = 0.10, 95% CI: 0.01, 0.87, p = 0.03).
