Dasatinib is a potent and multi-targeted inhibitor with greater selectivity against active ABL and SRC. Sunitinib has shown to have prominent activity against VEGFR2 and PDGFRβ. Also in phase II trials, sunitinib was more effective against leiomyosarcomas compared to liposarcomas, perhaps due to a prominent role of VEGF expression in tumor angiogenesis and pathogenesis in leiomyosarcoma [49]. The gene discussed is ABL1; the disease is leiomyosarcoma.
