Currently, the American National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines recommend that BRAF V600E mutational status should be evaluated in all colorectal carcinomas to identify 1) the patients with Lynch syndrome in MMR deficient group and 2) to identify the MMR proficient/BRAF V600E group with poor prognosis [15, 38, 43]. This evidence concerns the gene BRAF and colorectal carcinoma.
