RHBDF2 and Hyperkeratosis: Moreover, histological analysis of H&E-stained skin sections of female MRL/MpJ-Rhbdf2+/+ (Fig. 3a, b) and MRL/MpJ-Rhbdf2cub/cub mice (Fig. 3c, d) mice revealed follicular dystrophy (F), enlarged sebaceous glands (S), hyperplasia (H), and hyperkeratosis (asterisk) in MRL/MpJ-Rhbdf2cub/cub mice (Fig. 3c, d), but not in MRL/MpJ-Rhbdf2+/+; this phenotype in MRL/MpJ-Rhbdf2cub/cub mice is similar to the Rhbdf2cub/cub phenotype observed on the B6 strain background [3].
