Instruments to be used for evaluation of disease activity are active joint count, Childhood Health Assessment Questionnaire (CHAQ) [21]; pain measurement using a visual analogue scale (VAS) or a numeric rating scale (NRS), duration of morning stiffness and Juvenile Arthritis Disease Activity Score (JADAS) [22] with the four domains (1) Active joint count (swollen or tender joints with movement restriction), (2) Physician’s assessment of global disease activity (VAS or NRS), (3) Parent/Patient ‘s assessment of global disease activity (VAS or NRS), (4) ESR or CRP. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and arthritic joint disease.
