TGFB1 and pulmonary fibrosis: A number of cytokines, including interleukins (ILs), transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), and chemokines [10–14], secreted by lung epithelial cells, endothelial cells, stromal cells, and many types of activated inflammatory cells are known to be involved in the progress of pneumonia-related inflammation and pulmonary fibrosis.
