GCLM and atherosclerosis: Nrf2-regulated genes such as heme oxygenase (decycling) 1 (HMOX1) [39,40,41,42], peroxiredoxin (PRDX1) [42], glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX1) [47], glutamate-cysteine ligase modifier subunit (GCLM) and NADPH quinine oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1) [48] have been implicated in the protection against atherosclerosis and oxidative stress.
