DPP4 and Hypoglycemia: Due to their glucose-dependent mechanism of action, DPP-4 inhibitors are associated with low incidences of hypoglycemia when administered as monotherapy [13] or co-administered with agents that are not themselves associated with hypoglycemia [14, 15]; however, when they are administered with agents that are associated with hypoglycemia, such as sulfonylureas, the incidence of hypoglycemia is recognized to be increased [9, 11, 12].
