Wang et al. [7, 19] reported similar results; they found that the expression levels of inflammatory cytokines such as IFN-γ, MCP-1 and IP-10 in the peripheral blood and cerebrospinal fluid were significantly higher in patients with encephalitis and pulmonary edema than in patients with encephalitis or patients with mild disease. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL10 and pulmonary edema.
