In a univariate analysis, Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) stage C (P < 0.001), α-fetoprotein (AFP) level ≥400 ng/mL (P = 0.019), tumor size ≥10 cm (P = 0.023), extrahepatic metastases (P = 0.002), and portal vein tumor thrombosis (P < 0.001) significantly correlated with poor overall survival (Table 4). This evidence concerns the gene AFP and liver cancer.
