Qu et al. [20] found that laminin 411 acts as a potent inducer of the differentiation of WJ-MSCs into insulin-producing cells (IPCs) via the Pdx1 and Ngn3 signaling pathways, and transfusion of the differentiated IPCs improved the symptoms and survival of rats with type 1 diabetes. This evidence concerns the gene NEUROG3 and type 1 diabetes mellitus.
