Evidence on the association between GALNT12 (MIM#610290) and colorectal carcinogenesis had been reported when 6 fully and 1 partially inactivating variants were detected in heterozygosis in the germline DNA of CRC patients, while no inactivating variants were detected in a cohort of cancer-free controls older than 70 [4]. The gene discussed is GALNT12; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
