In a restrospective analysis done by Kopetz et al., patients that received neoadjuvant oxaliplatin prior to their hepatectomy for metastatic colorectal cancer had higher levels of Src pathway signalling and poorer relapse-free survival compared with those who did not receive oxaliplatin, suggesting that combination therapy with Src inhibition and chemotherapy may be more efficacious than chemotherapy alone [20]. The gene discussed is SRC; the disease is metastatic colorectal cancer.
